Family & Children Services

FAMILY AND CHILDREN’S SERVICES UNIT

The family and children’s services unit provides support to children, youth, and families in Dunn County through a wide array of programming including child protective services, youth justice, foster/respite care, and kinship care.

Child Protective Services:

Our Child Protective Services team is dedicated to keeping children safe and supporting families through Wisconsin Legislature: Chapter 48. We work to protect children from harm while helping families stay together whenever it’s safe to do so. We provide the support and resources parents need to care for their children and create a safe, stable home.

Child Welfare Professionals receive and respond to reports of abuse and neglect of children, complete initial assessments and develop safety plans to assure safety of children and provide case planning services to support treatment and behavioral change for families. All of these services are provided with the goal of maintaining children in the homes with their families and enhancing the well-being of children.

Definitions of Abuse and Neglect: Wisconsin Statute 48.02
