Mission Statement
Roads are used by ALL segments of our taxpayers PLUS outside travelers here for recreation, conducting business and INSPECTING our community for possible future business and personal INVESTMENT. The voting public in numerous documented surveys has time and again supported increased taxes when they are SPECIFICALLY designated to highway and safety improvements.
Our goals are the same TODAY as they have been in the PAST and will be the same in the years AHEAD – To Provide the Best Possible Highways Permitted with the Dollars Budgeted. A Good Transportation System is the Backbone of our Community.
Public Information Virtual Notice for Public Input
The Dunn County Highway Department is proposing roadwork on County P at the Irving Creek crossing near 490th Avenue. The project will include the removal of the existing structure, construction of a new structure, reconstruction of roadway approaches, new asphaltic pavement, and gravel shoulders. The project design is currently scheduled to be completed by August 1, 2025, for construction in 2026.
The Dunn County Highway Department is proposing a structure improvement project on Count D from Weston to Menomonie. The project will include rehabilitation of the existing structure including a concrete deck overlay, abutment concrete and undermining repairs, and pier scour repairs; reconstruction of roadway approaches; new asphaltic pavement; new curb and gutter; and new guardrail. The project design is currently scheduled to be completed by August 1, 2025, for construction in 2026.

Useful Links
Christmas Tree Recycling
The Dunn County Highway Department will make their tree chipping units available for grinding Christmas trees at County Highway Shops. These chips will be used for mulch, saving landfill space by recycling the trees.
People interested in recycling their trees should bring them to the County Highway Shops at Menomonie, Boyceville, Colfax, Eau Galle, North County (STH 25 & 64), or the Rock Falls salt-shed between the hours of 7 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through mid January.
Adopt a Highway
- The Adopt-A-Highway program allows groups to volunteer and clean up roadside litter throughout Dunn County on the County Trunk Highway System.
