Department of Human Services Overview

The Department provides a wide variety of human services, which are primarily mandated by Federal and State statutes and rules. The Department’s staff and services are funded through 80% Federal/State dollars and 20% County levy dollars. In Wisconsin, most human services are provided through a system that is considered to be County administered or delivered and State supervised.
