Groundwater Quality
In Wisconsin, 70% of residents and 97% of communities rely on groundwater as their drinking water source. Wisconsin has a large amount of high-quality groundwater, but once this resource is contaminated, it becomes expensive and often nearly impossible to remove those contaminants. Because of this, we need to protect our groundwater from contamination. In order to do this effectively, we need to be aware of what areas are the most susceptible to groundwater contamination, and the factors that influence that susceptibility.
