SEASONAL WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
Seasonal weight restrictions will be lifted effective April 13, 2026. With the frost now fully out of the ground, roadway base materials have regained strength and are once again able to support heavier loads. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during the spring thaw!
Dunn County Highway Department is implementing temporary weight restrictions on certain roadways throughout the county to be effective Thursday, March 5th , 2026. These weight restrictions are put in place during the spring thaw to help protect roadways from severe structural damage caused by heavier loads traveling over them. As the ground thaws water becomes trapped under the pavement creating a less stable base for the roadway. Late spring, once the ground has dried out, these restrictions will be lifted.
