County HH Elk Mound - East County Line, Dunn County

Public Comment Period: March 10, 2026– March 31, 2026

Dunn County, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, is planning to undertake a bridge replacement project on County HH in the Town of Elk Mound. The proposed project will take place on the Spring Creek Bridge between 970th St and 1010th St

WisDOT seeking public input on Chippewa River Bridge project

Proposed work includes replacing and widening deck on County H structure

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is sharing details on a proposed maintenance project on the bridge carrying County H over the Chippewa River in the Dunn County towns of Rock Creek and Spring Brook and seeking public input.

Built in 1964, the bridge is need of maintenance to extend its service life. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:

· Replacing and widening the concrete bridge deck

· Reinforcing the existing girders for a larger deck width

· Completing spot painting of the existing girders

· Replacing deck drains

· Replacing and extending guardrail

During construction, the bridge will be closed, and traffic will be detoured.

Construction currently is scheduled for 2027.

Bridge Load Posting Reduction - 20 Ton Bridge Load Posting - (B17-951 CTH BB/Tainter Lake)

This notice is to inform the public that effective immediately, the gross vehicle weight limit for bridge structure B17-951 located on CTH BB/Tainter Lake in Cedar Falls, Dunn County has been reduced to 20 tons.

The bridge is located on CTH BB/Tainter Lake, approximately 1.75 miles East of STH 25 in Cedar Falls, Dunn County.

A recent inspection was performed on bridge structure B17-951 and concluded that certain steel members of the bridge have deteriorated to a point that warrants the implementation of a 20 ton gross vehicle weight load posting of this structure.

All loads greater than 20 tons must use an alternate route and are restricted from crossing the posted bridge. Disregarding the load posting is subject to fines and could compromise the structural integrity of the bridge.

CTH V at the Sand Creek Bridge - Town of Sand Creek

The proposed project on CTH V at the Sand Creek Bridge (B-17-0959) in Dunn County will replace the existing narrow, structurally deficient bridge with a new two-span concrete slab structure, widen the approaches to 30 feet, and include curb, gutter, sidewalk, and storm sewer improvements. Temporary grading impacts are expected within Memorial Park, and some right-of-way will be needed. The project is sponsored by the Dunn County Highway Department through the WisDOT Local Bridge Improvement Assistance Program and funded 80% federally and 20% by the county
